Build Stuff conference is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of their gender, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. The code of conduct is our core value and clarifies an organization’s principles.
Build Stuff conference and its organizers feel inspired by the diverse audience. Diversity on our stage is a key priority for us, and something we think hard about when we're selecting speakers — and we're working to increase diversity in our audience as well.
However, diversity and inclusion aren’t just about speakers or organizers. Even if we attract more and more diverse audiences every year, there should be more actions done to speed up the process.
Build Stuff conference is open and welcoming to everyone. As improving diversity should be one of the core values within the tech industry, we’ve decided to drive diversity and inclusion in Build Stuff'23 - Hybrid Conference, too!
With this in mind, we’re giving away 70 online & 30 onsite tickets to people from underrepresented groups in the technology and/or open source communities who may not have the opportunity to attend the Build Stuff’23 - Hybrid Conference for various reasons.
These groups include but are not limited to, women, people of color, individuals with a disability, minority ethnic people, LGBTQIA people, and others.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
We're working in partnership with organizations that are already doing the work on professional development, advocacy, and community-building for groups that are traditionally marginalized or under-represented in tech. We provide the tickets; our partners make sure they get into the right people's hands!
HOW DO I GET A DIVERSITY TICKET?
Diversity Tickets are available now by filling out the form below on this website. Diversity tickets are awarded based on a combination of need and impact. Awarded recipients will receive a complimentary ticket to the conference.
Diversity Tickets are limited to one per person.

WHAT’S INCLUDED WITH A DIVERSITY TICKET?
Diversity Tickets come with exactly the same perks as the Build Stuff'23 - Hybrid Conference tickets, including full access to three Conference days on Nov 15-17, 2023, and the afterparty (Onsite or Online).
More information about this year's conference tickets can be found below. If you are selected for a diversity program, we will be waiving all the registration fees.
WILL ANYONE KNOW THAT I’VE CLAIMED A DIVERSITY TICKET?
No, not unless you want them to. We do not disclose any attendee purchasing information. Everyone who applies for the Diversity ticket remains anonymous and receives a complimentary ticket to the conference.
Only this year’s organizers will know who has a Diversity Ticket (this is because we have access to the Build Stuff'23 - Hybrid Conference website admin).
You’re more than welcome to tell people you’ve claimed a Diversity Ticket though – it’s totally up to you.
WHAT IF I CLAIM A TICKET BUT CAN’T ATTEND?
If you can’t attend the Build Stuff'23 - Hybrid Conference, we ask that you get in touch with us as soon as possible to let us know. That way we can release your Diversity Ticket for someone else to use.

We’re aware we need to reach beyond our usual networks to increase the diversity of Build Stuff'23 - Hybrid Conference.
